Deployment and child custody

On Behalf of | Jul 26, 2018 | Child Custody & Visitation |

For members of the military and those they love, daily life can be challenging for different reasons, especially when it comes to deployment. Divorce-related legal issues can make things even harder and those which involve children, such a custody dispute or the pursuit of visitation rights, are often very emotional. If you are being deployed, or if your child’s other parent is going to be deployed soon, it is crucial to work through these matters carefully. With so much at stake, finding the right course of action for your circumstances is essential.

When it comes to custody cases, each person is in a unique position. There are many different factors that the court will go over before making a decision and there are also different outcomes that people look for. Keeping a positive attitude can be tough, but it is important to prevent negative emotions from adversely affecting your case, especially with something as important as a custody ruling.

For those deployed overseas, handling custody disputes and other family law matters can be especially hard. Our law office fully recognizes many of the unique challenges that military couples encounter when they work through the divorce process or handle post-divorce legal issues (such as child support payments, for example). While these matters can be challenging from a financial standpoint as well as an emotional point of view, a brighter future could be around the corner and it is crucial to keep your child’s best interests in mind as you approach your case.
